The secret to financial and self fulfillment in life is embedded in a seven lettered word: SUCCESS. This can only be achieved by consciously cultivating and harmonizing these seven principles of success. These elements of success highlighted in this article is the foundation upon which sustainable growth, lasting success and fulfillment is built upon. The seven steps are in this order:
PLANNING
The beginning of every year is heralded by resolutions to make positive changes and improve on the previous gains, close down unprofitable ventures and consolidate promising ideas. Therefore, planning is very essential at the beginning of a new year to carefully pilot the air-plane of new activities for the entire 365 days in a most successful manner. Have short, medium and long-term plans, goals and strategies to maximize the time available in these short 12 months!
Remember the wisdom of planning to avoid failure in your endeavors. Your master plan will depend on so many factors like your goals, vision, expectation, capabilities, resources available and managerial ability.
PREPARING
No winning army goes to war without adequate preparation. Get down to the business of exercising your creative mind on what to do, how to do it, ideas to explore and tools and resources to use to achieve your dreams. To start a new venture, count the cost and know the right timing to launch out. Diversify where necessary, close down when obvious and consolidate your previous gains.
Be prepared for a new beginning and be assured you will succeed and be motivated by your daily progress. Create opportunities for multiple streams of income as a shock absorber. Get materials needed together. Make room for self-development reading books and planning for seminars and courses that will contribute positively to your achieving your goals. Be prepared!
PROJECTING
This is the action stage. You have adequately planned for this year. Good. You have completed your preparation for a greater year than before. Fine. Then, what are you waiting for? Like a swimmer diving from the spring-board, launch yourself into a new dawn confidently! Take action and be proactive. Quit procrastinating and be positive. You will succeed, give it a trial.
Test your innovations, ideas and products. Be outdoor sampling opinions or doing market research. Do not wait for opportunities, create one and maximize it.
PREVENTING
No winning team gives room for distractions in the middle of a game. Prevent loss of concentration. Be focused and disciplined. Avoid laxity and complacency. Stick to a winning plan. Avoid time stealer and wastage of resources. Make efficient use of resources and manpower at your disposal and adequately reward deserving staff.
Do away with the fear of the unknown and overcome anxieties by building on your strengths. Do what you're good at and hire the best hands to do what you cannot. Hard work is the surest way to success. Give it what it takes and stay focused.
PROVOKING
Newton's Law of Motion states that every object remains in a state of rest until a force is applied. Now, provoke yourself to do the unimaginable. Go the extra mile; give it your real best and don't stop until you make a positive difference. Fan up and discover your latent gifts, this is your strength!
Have a strong faith to succeed and have a Positive Mental Attitude about yourself, family, business, and the people around you, environment and your present situation. No one can better motivate you than yourself; now make up your mind to be the best and give it a shot. Run with your vision!
PROTECTING
Every champion emerges from battles with protective mechanisms. Protect yourself from shocks of the unexpected. Have alternative plans ready in the event of one failing. It is wise to insure your investments and double-check your plans and strategies.
Protect your intellectual property and get your inventions patented. Be professional and legalize your undertakings to avoid future disputes and work within the ambit of the law. Be protected and hire professionals in unfamiliar terrains like account auditing, taxes, contracts, investing, loans, partnerships, mergers, business sale, mortgages, international businesses, agreements and day-to-day business transactions.
PROMOTING
Finally, you have crossed over. There is a master plan before you, promote it. You have a dream project, business idea, new invention or creative program for the world to celebrate and reward you for by patronizing you. Take your ideas out and shout loud on roof tops. Have a solid advertising campaign. Spend quality time promoting your ideas and generate the desired income.
Share out and distribute flyers. Use word-of-mouth marketing, create new websites, join discussion forums, join a social network and let no day pass by without promoting your inventions both offline and online. Make the best of the season and consolidate your efforts by practicing all the "7Ps" of success discussed, as a yearly habit. You will succeed!
