I don't know about you but motivation is not always easy for me to keep when I am going through tough times in my life. Of course that is when we need it the most but it is very difficult to keep up a great attitude when everything around may seem like it is falling apart. Here are a few ways I have found to stay motivated in the difficult times in life.
Tips Number 1
One of the main reasons why it is so hard to stay motivated when times are tough is because we tend to focus on all the negative outcomes that may happen in our future because of our present day situation. However, the thing about that is if we stay focused on the negative, then we can't seem to find the positive and a way out of it. So make a very conscious decision to start to find as many positives about your current situation that you can. This will probably be very difficult in the beginning but keep it up and you will be surprised how many blessings in disguise you have even in things are hard.
Tip Number 2
When things are really tough it is very easy to feel like you are isolated or that you are the only person to have ever gone through what you are going through. This is a bad place to be in because often time you start to feel sorry for yourself which makes it harder to get out of what you are in. So instead, find one to five people that have gone through something similar to you and have come out better on the other side. You don't have to know them personally. As a matter of fact, it could just be an autobiography that you read that gives you hope for the future.
Tip Number 3
This tip may sound overly simple but it will do wonders for you. Find ways to laugh as often as possible. Laughter is a great medicine and will put you in a much better mood. If you are in a better mood you have a better outlook on life which can give you ideas on how to get out of the situation that you are in. Never underestimate the power of laughter.
